To mark a "say-what?" Gov. Cuomo Broadway news week that will live in EITHER (a) the lunacy OR (b) the audacity - of unscientific arbitrariness:

To mark a Broadway news week that will live in Covid history as EITHER (a) the lunacy OR (b) the audacity - of Cuomo's arbitrariness:

Cuomo proclaimed this week we are ready for full theaters in two weeks!  Broadway chooses September, as we put full trust in the same producers who would not close down until required by law and the last penny squeezed out.  [To be fair, they closed at 4 pm March 12 2020, when technically they could have waited until 7  pm]

If it works out, it's just dumb luck, not science.

But: This time, the hospitals will be totally ready. All those people paying premium $600 a ticket to sit maskless (with others having forged Excelsior cards) could be a direct pipeline to the no-waiting premium triage desk at the ER where, if you pay directly, the ventilators are always available. The utter arbitrariness, just seeming based on Memorial Day to Labor Day business concerns, means we feel headed for a revival of a year ago - and since theatergoers who can afford premium seats seem to enjoy revivals: Tune of “Always True To You In My Fashion” -

MORE CUOMO:  LET'S TRY TO GET HIM THAT TONY NOM TO GO WITH THAT EMMY!

Given that Gov. Cuomo has turned out to be more honored as an award-caliber entertainer than politician, there's a part for him to maybe add a Tony nomination to that Emmy.

Theater can adjust with revisals that take both inclusion and distancing concerns into account.

This revisal proposed an inclusive AND socially distant "MY FAR LADY" - For inclusion, Higgins will be nice to Eliza from the first scene, so we're out in 20 minutes with a full Broadway experience - and that would allow at 30% houses, a 30-performance week.

Short shows! Most people just want a night out and hate being away from their email too long. And for rich people, it's more about having seen the hit show the actually seeing it.
